After Steph Curry hit 51 points in three quarters on Wednesday, Friday was Kevin Durant’s turn. The 30-year-old scored 41 points, including 25 in the fourth quarter, to lead the Golden State Warriors in a 128-100 win over the New York Knicks.

The Golden State Warriors started the game on a low point, letting the Knicks take the lead at different intervals. In the fourth quarter, Kevin Durant turned into a superstar, converting shots and scores to make 25 points in a career-high quarter.

Despite showing interest in the 30-year-old, the sellout crowd of 19,812 at MSG, cheered their home team relentless up until Durant turned up in the fourth quarter. The fans looked in awe as Durant won the game for the Warriors.

Regarding his incredible fourth quarter, the former Oklahoma player said,

“You know when you catch every green light when you’re trying to get somewhere?” Durant asked the reporters, “That’s exactly what it feels like.”

Durant also described his slow start in the third quarter.

I only took two shots in the third. I wasn’t aggressive enough,” – Durant said. “I wanted to come out there impose my will, score the ball. I felt like we needed it. Especially that group coming out in the fourth. I felt like we needed a punch scoring the basketball, so I tried to be aggressive. Shoot good shots at the same time.

The 30-year-old ended the game with 17 of 24 shots, nine rebounds, and five assists. He will be a free agent next year but has been trying to avoid the topic to concentrate on the game. The Knicks have openly shown interest in him but it’s unclear whether Durant will leave the Bay Area when his contract ends.
