The Kansas Chiefs looked ready to forget their shootout loss to the Patriots last Sunday as they walloped the Cincinnati Bengals 45-10 in Sunday’s prime-time showcase in Kansas.

Running back Kareem Hunt turned into a super-star as he logged two successive touchdowns to take the Chiefs up 14-0. He ended the game with three touchdowns, 86 yards for 15 carries and five receptions in 55 yards.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes was splendid as usual, but he was a constant target of the Bengal’s defensive players. Perhaps knowing the star quarterback has become a target of opposing defensive players, Hunt turned up to ensure his team recorded its sixth win this season.

“People are watching film on Pat now so I’m going to make it easy for him,” Hunt said. “I told him that you do all the cute stuff. I’ll handle all the dirty work.”

This year is Hunt’s second season with the Chiefs after he was drafted in the third round last year. He looks determined to continue with last season’s top form when he ran for an NFL best 1,327 yards. He also caught 53 passes for 455 yards and logged 11 touchdowns. The 23-year-old ended up playing in the Pro Bowl and signed an endorsement deal with Under Armour in the offseason.
