Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane scored the winner in his team’s 1-0 away win against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
In addition to marking the occasion with his 200th Premier League goal, Kane also became Tottenham Hotspur’s all-time leading goalscorer. While Tottenham let a 2-0 lead collapse during their 4-2 loss to Man City in the reverse fixture three weeks ago, they remained defensively solid throughout Sunday’s contest, holding onto their 15th-minute lead for the duration of the match.
By grabbing this crucial win against Man City, Spurs remain in fifth place on the Premier League standings and within touching distance of a top-four finish, trailing fourth-placed Newcastle by a single point and third-placed Manchester United by three points.
Man City missed out on an opportunity to close the gap at the top of the table on leaders Arsenal, who lost 1-0 to Everton. This means that the Gunners remain five points ahead of City having just passed the halfway mark of the season.
Spurs next face Leicester City on Saturday, while Man City will play Aston Villa on Sunday.
