Two of the giants of the football world, Juventus and FC Barcelona, have reportedly agreed to a huge deal that will send one of the world’s top young players from Spain to Italy.

Arthur Melo, who was signed just two years ago by the Blaugrana for a $30 million fee from his native Brazil, will reportedly be on the move to Juventus in a move that will include Miralem Pjanic.

The Bosnian midfielder will reportedly be a part of the deal and will move to Barcelona for a lesser fee in a separate transfer. Pjanic has already reportedly agreed to contract terms with the La Liga side.

The main motivation for the sale of Arthur appears to be financial from FC Barcelona’s perspective. The COVID-19 crisis and drop in revenues have reportedly forced their hand into selling one of its top players, and Arthur appears to be the sacrificial lamb.

Melo, who is still only 23 years old, has generally turned in solid and even impressive performances since coming to Europe. While he has found himself an important piece of Barcelona’s roster, he has still been unable to find himself as a regular in the starting XI especially after the Blaugrana signed Frenkie de Jong last summer.

The Brazilian midfielder’s fee will reportedly top $80 million.
