Forward Paulo Dybala won’t be leaving Seria A powerhouse Juventus after all. According to influential Italian outlet TuttoSport, Dybala is set to agree to a contract extension that should keep him in Turin at least until 2025.

Dybala was linked with a move away from Juve for the past year as he was unhappy and sporadically used. It seemed like it’s just a question of time before the 26-year-old Argentinian suits up for another club, with Premier League clubs Manchester United and Tottenham emerging as front runners for his services.

However, Dybala emerged as one of Juventus’ most important players in the second part of the season and formed a formidable partnership with Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. He was especially prolific since the 2019/20 season resumed, having scored on four consecutive matches.

Paulo Dybala’s good form prompted Juve to identify him as the future face of their organization and have recently engaged in contract extension talks with the player’s representatives. Reportedly, the new deal would tie Dybala to the club through 2024/25 season, while making him the club’s second-highest paid player behind Ronaldo with a yearly salary of around $12 million.

Juventus’ CFO Fabio Paratici also confirmed the club’s plans to extend Dybala in a recent chat with reporters.

“We are talking continuously with its managers,” said Paratici. “He is an important player, we made an important investment when he came.”

Dybala joined Juventus in 2015 from Palermo. Since then, he helped the team win four Seria A titles while scoring 95 goals in all competitions.
