Borrusia Dortmund and USMNT winger Christian Pulisic is showing people that he can do great things, but Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp thinks the U.S. shouldn’t put too much pressure on the 19-year-old.

Klopp had the chance to get a close-up display of Christian Pulisic’s talents when the young star scored two goals for Borussia Dortmund in the 3-1 win of over Liverpool in a recent friendly which took place in Charlotte. This caused Klopp to express his admiration for Pulisic’s game, but also to tell folks in the U.S. that they shouldn’t expect from him to carry the entire national team on his shoulders.

He’s a fantastic skilled boy, and it’s not a surprise to see.” – said Klopp after the match. “He’s a smart player, and unfortunately the USA needs more of these players. He alone cannot do it all.

Don’t put too much pressure on the boy, hopefully, you can have a few more of them and then play very successful soccer in the future. If Belgium and Iceland can go to a World Cup then so can the USA. I think he’ll be fine,” – he added.

Christian Pulisic became a member of Borrusia Dortmund in February 2015, which was just three months before Jurgen Klopp left the club. However, Klopp hoped that he could reunite with Pulisic in Liverpool, trying to bring him to Premier League giants in the summer of 2016. Borrusia, knowing what kind of talent they had in Pulisic, rejected the offer.
