Quarterback Jordan Love is refusing to participate in practice or preseason games for the Green Bay Packers until an agreement on a contract extension is reached. While he reported for training camp on time as well as other training activities, he is yet to practice with the team.

Despite Love’s refusal to train, Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst appears undeterred, assuring that he understands the player’s point of view. When asked by reporters about the likelihood of a deal being reached, Gutekunst appeared confident. “Yeah, I think so, but again, you never know. We’re working really hard to get that done. At the same time, the thing I have confidence in is we both want the same thing.”

Love’s agreement to a contract extension in the coming days is of paramount importance for the Packers given that the team has no immediate plans to add another quarterback to their roster. Coach Matt LaFleur confirmed that while second-year pro Sean Clifford will handle snaps, reps will be split 50-50 between him and rookie Michael Pratt. LaFleur insisted that he remains unworried about Love’s situation, confident that an agreement will be reached.
