The New York Jets finally earned their first win of the season in Week 15 after starting the 2020 NFL season with 13 straight losses.

They surprised the playoff-caliber Los Angeles Rams, who looked sluggish all day, beating them 23-20.

Before Sunday, the Jets were sitting pretty to lock up the first pick in the 2021 draft, but now it’s no longer a certainty.

The Jacksonville Jaguars also have only one win, but due to their strength of schedule, Jacksonville would have the top pick if both teams end up losing the rest of their games.

The prize, presumably, for the team that gets the first pick, is Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawerence. Many view Lawrence as a generational talent and the best prospect at quarterback since the Indianapolis Colts drafted Andrew Luck in 2012.

It’ll be interesting to see what the Jets do in the draft if they do end up with the second pick. They could take another quarterback, Ohio State’s Justin Fields, for example.

But if they still believe in their quarterback Sam Darnold, who is still only 23 years old, the Jets could decide to build around him.

They could trade the second pick to another quarterback-needy team and gain valuable draft assets, or use the pick to get another generational talent, like Oregon offensive tackle Penei Sewell, who many believe is one of the best offensive linemen to come out of college in years.

The Jets will face the Cleveland Browns and the New England Patriots to end the season, while the Jaguars have the Chicago Bears and Indianapolis Colts left on their schedule. As it stands, that number one pick is still up for grabs.
