A Winless New York Jets doesn’t seem keen on changing this status as the organization continues to trade away any player they can. After previously dealing locker room favorite Steve McLendon, the Jets have now also shipped linebacker Jordan Willis out of town.

According to NFL’s Tom Pelissero, the Jets sent Willis to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for a sixth-round draft pick. The 49ers will also receive a seventh-rounder as part of the deal.

Willis will provide 49ers pass rush options, considering that the team has been decimated by injuries on the defensive end of the ball lately. San Francisco previously tried to take care of the issue by signing Ziggy Ansah, but he got injured as well.

Jets’, on the other hand, haven’t been so high on Jordan Willis despite the fact that the 25-year-old player is only three seasons removed from being a third-round pick. Willis managed to play 46 snaps in two games so far in 2020, being inactive in the remaining three games.

While Willis hasn’t seen much success in his NFL career, the fact is that he played for struggling organizations like Cincinnati Bengals and Jets. Being with a stable franchise like the 49ers could do wonders for him and help him rediscover productivity that got him 21 sacks in the final two years of his college career.
