The Philadelphia 76ers star James Harden has admitted that his relationship with the team has been irreparably severed. When asked by a reporter on Thursday if his relationship with the 76ers was beyond repair, he replied, “I think so. I’ve been patient all summer. For me, it’s just focus on what I can control and getting ready for this season.”
Harden’s comments come after a long feud with Philadelphia president Daryl Morey, which stems from the player’s frustration over a lack of a long-term maximum-level contract offer from the franchise. The 76ers since contemplated excluding Harden from their training camp, with a source explaining that Harden’s presence could disrupt the team from achieving a “championship mindset.” The 76ers have since reportedly been considering including the player in the upcoming training camp.
Still, it appears as if Harden has reached a point of no return when it comes to breaking down his relationship with the 76ers after he referred to Morey as a “liar” before claiming that he would not be willing to be a part of any organization that Morey is party to as well.
