The Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Calvin Ridley applied on Wednesday to the NFL to be reinstated, a league source revealed. Wednesday was Ridley’s first day in which he would become eligible to apply for reinstatement after he was indefinitely suspended from the league for gambling.

Having arrived at the Jaguars on November 1, Ridley’s last NFL appearance was on October 24, 2021, when he was still an Atlanta Falcons player. At that time, he decided to step away from football to focus on his mental health.

On March 7, 2022, Ridley was suspended after an investigation found that he had placed bets on NFL games over a five-day stretch. Following the announcement, Ridley posted a series of Tweets in which he admitted that his bets totaled $1,500. He insisted, however, that he did not have a gambling problem.

Ridley, now 28 years old, made 248 catches for 3,342 yards and 28 touchdowns in 49 games during his career with the Falcons. He hit his peak in 2020 when he made 90 catches 1,374 yards and nine touchdowns. If he is able to replicate this form, the Jaguars could become one of the best offenses in the league.

I am a reality TV junkie. My dream since I was a kid was to be on Big Brother, but until then you can catch me binge-watching episodes each summer.
