The knee injury that the Jacksonville Jaguars’ quarterback Trevor Lawrence suffered in the final minutes of a 37-20 win over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday doesn’t seem to be a serious one. The player himself confirmed this in a chat with reporters after the game, saying that he “feels pretty good”.

Lawrence got hurt after being tackled by Colts defensive end Samson Ebukam during a scramble play. The 24-year-old player was seen holding his knee before making his way to the sidelines. He didn’t return for the Jags’ final possession.

Lawrence said he only bruised his knee, although he is expected to undergo further testing just in case. However, he couldn’t confirm that he would be ready to go for the Thursday Night Football game against the New Orleans Saints.

“Walking around all right. I can’t really say much now but want to make sure everything’s checked out before [the game against the Saints]…It’s a little bit bruised, too, so just trying to kind of sort through what it is now,” said Lawrence.

Trevor Lawrence has been playing well for the AFC South-leading Jags in 2023. He is completing a career-high 67.1% of his passes and has thrown for 1,439, seven touchdowns, and three interceptions in the first six games of the season.
