Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey isn’t a fan of current NFL quarterbacks. In a GQ magazine piece, released on Wednesday, Ramsey delivered some harsh criticism to some of the league’s best QBs but didn’t hold back on the rookies as well.
The 23-year-old Pro Bowler began expressing his QB thoughts with Buffalo Bills’ rookie QB Josh Allen, saying that the 7th overall pick in 2018 NFL Draft is “trash.”
Allen was immediately asked about Ramsey’s comments by reporters, but it seems like the young rookie won’t pay much attention to them.
“That’s the first I’ve heard of it,” Allen said. “He’s not on my team. He’s not my teammate. It don’t bother me.”
Jalen Ramsey proceeded on calling Atlanta Falcons’ Matt Ryan, 2016’s NFL MVP, “overrated.”
“I think Matt Ryan’s overrated.” – he said. “You can’t tell me you win MVP two years ago, and then last year, you a complete bust, and you still got Julio Jones? There’s no way that should ever happen. I don’t care.”
Ramsey wasn’t as harsh to other QBs, saying that Indianapolis Colts’ Andrew Luck is just “not good,” Los Angeles Rams’ Jared Goff is “average to above average,” and that Pittsburgh Steelers’ Ben Roethlisberger “decent at best.”
He did, however, praise some QBs like Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Kirk Cousins and Dak Prescott.
Jalen Ramsey was drafted fifth overall in 2016 by the Jaguars after having an outstanding college career. He continued in the same manner in NFL, managing 128 tackles, 31 pass deflections, and six interceptions in two years.
