Jadon Sancho announced his return to Borussia Dortmund with an assist in a 3-0 victory over SV Darmstadt in the Bundesliga on Saturday. After falling out with Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, Sancho returned to Dortmund – his previous club – on loan until the end of the season.

In the 76th minute, Sancho, who had come on as a second-half substitute, set up fellow substitute Marco Reus with a goal to secure Dortmund’s third of the night. This was the club’s first league win in the past five matches.

“Ever since I’ve come back I have felt like at home and felt great to be on the pitch again,” Sancho said following the win. “It was meant to be, coming back and seeing Marco [Reus]. I am just happy to set up his goal today.”

While Sancho’s feud at United had led to a stagnation in his game time, returning to Dortmund has opened the door for the player to revive his career while also helping Dortmund to climb the table in an effort to qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
