Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho is edging closer to departing the club as he continues to refuse to apologize to manager Erik ten Hag following their fallout, sources have confirmed. The 23-year-old player took to social media to claim that Ten Hag lied about the reasons that he was dropped ahead of Man United’s clash with Arsenal in the Premier League.

According to Ten Hag, his squad selection was based on his players’ performances and work ethic during training. Following the player’s outburst, Ten Hag requested that Sancho apologize in private while also releasing a public statement. He has continuously refused to do so.

Sources familiar with the matter explained that should Sancho choose to apologize now, his act would not have the same impact it would have had he done so a month ago when the fallout occurred. Despite the financial cost that would come as a result, the club is open to letting Sancho depart during the January transfer window.
