Canadian center-back Kamal Miller played his way into a new contract with Inter Miami. The club announced that Miller inked an extension that runs through the 2026 MLS season. Miami also has a club option to extend Miller’s contract for another year.

Miller has been a standout performer for Inter since joining the team in April in a trade from CF Montreal. The extension rewards Miller with long-term stability and likely increases his $420,000 annual salary.

Miller already played 31 games with Miami in all competitions and helped the club win the Leagues Cup back in the summer.

“This is the right club for me because of its ambition to win everything,” said Miller in a statement. “We have such a great foundation with the front office, support staff, great teammates and coaches, and everything else. Everything feels like it’s falling into place, and I’m happy to be part of it.”

Kamal Miller played college soccer at Syracuse Orange while also suiting up for various lower-tier Canadian soccer clubs. Orlando City drafted him 27th overall in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft, and he ended up spending two years with the club before moving to Montreal.

Miller is also a member of Canada’s national team, having made his senior debut in 2019. He has played 38 international games with Canada since then and was part of the country’s roster for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
