David Beckham promised that his Inter Miami will enter their inaugural MLS season in 2020 with some big names on their roster, and it seems like he wasn’t kidding. According to Catalunya Radio, Miami approached Barcelona’s star striker Luis Suarez and offered him a four-year contract.

It remains unclear whether Suarez will seriously consider the offer as he still remains an integral part of Barca’s starting lineup. This, however, could change if the La Liga giants proceed with their plans to pursue Atletico Madrid’s striker Antoine Griezmann and secure his services.

If Suarez ends up being challenged for his place in the first team, he might grow fond of the idea of playing in MLS, especially since he would be the face of the franchise. It is also expected that the 32-year-old would command a big salary if he joins Inter.

Luis Suarez ended this La Liga season on a high level once again, managing to score 21 goals and provide six assists in 33 matches. Still, he struggled in Champions League, where he only managed to score once in 10 games. Since coming to Barcelona in 2014, Suarez played a total of 247 matches in all competitions and managed to score an impressive 177 goals.

In case they get rejected by Suarez, Inter Miami will turn their attention on recruiting several other soccer stars from Europe. On top of their list is Italian midfielder Daniele De Rossi, who decided to leave his AS Roma after 18 years with the club. De Rossi is still looking to remain in Europe, but if he doesn’t get a satisfying offer, he would reportedly consider coming to Major League Soccer.
