Bayern Munich will be looking to win their 15th consecutive UEFA Champions League group stage match when they face Galatasaray on Tuesday. This comes as the reigning Bundesliga champions face an injury crisis, forcing them to field a squad of just 18 players.
Among Bayern’s injured going into the clash are central defender Dayot Upamecano, midfielders Raphaël Guerreiro and Leon Goretzka, and goalkeeper Manuel Neuer. Manager Thomas Tuchel revealed, however, that Morocco defender Noussair Mazraoui will be included in the matchday squad after he picked up an injury while on international duty.
“We have sped up recovery and maybe risked a bit in the past days,” Tuchel said of Mazraoui’s injury status. “So he fully took part in training today and if there’s no reaction overnight then I think he can play.” Should Bayern defeat the Turkish club, they will deepen their foothold at the top of Group A.
