Quarterback Nick Foles signed a contract with the Indianapolis Colts on Monday—a move that will once again see him work with coach Frank Reich. While the team refused to disclose the terms of the contract, sources revealed that Foles had signed a two-year deal with the team.

Foles previously worked under Reick in 2017, when Reich served as the offensive coordinator of the Philadelphia Eagles team that went on to win that season’s Super Bowl championship.

According to reports, the Eagles were eager to re-sign Foles before he concluded his deal with the Colts. After considering Foles, the Eagles opted to remain with their current quarterback lineup, particularly as talk of the potential departure of Gardner Minshew from the team was dismissed.

In a move corresponding to Foles’ arrival, the Colts decided to release quarterback James Morgan from his contract.

Set to play backup to starting quarterback James Morgan, Foles faces competition from 2021 sixth-round draft pick Sam Ehlinger and undrafted free agent Jack Coan.

Prior to signing with the Colts, Foles was recently made a free agent after being released by the Chicago Bears on May 1. This move was expected after the Bears signed free agent quarterback Trevor Siemian.
