Serge Ibaka will remain with the Milwaukee Bucks after signing a new contract with the team. The details of the deal remain undisclosed. Averaging 7 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 17.8 minutes in 19 games last season, the veteran center has become a highly-regarded member of the squad. He joined the Bucks on the February 10 trade deadline as part of a four-team deal.

“Serge is an elite defender and shot-blocker who will continue to add depth for us at center. He was a valuable acquisition for us last season, and we look forward to having him back in Milwaukee,” Bucks general manager Jon Horst stated following the signing of the deal.

Ibaka was brought in to Milwaukee to cover for starting center Brook Lopez, who required surgery for a back injury that ruled him out of action for all but 13 regular season games.

A three-time All-Defensive first-team selection, Ibaka led the NBA in total blocks for four straight seasons while still playing for the Oklahoma City Thunder. With 1,752 career blocks, Ibaka is second on the all-time NBA ranking, only behind Dwight Howard.
