Houston Texans fans and ownership have seen enough of Bill O’Brien.

O’Brien has been fired as head coach and general manager, according to sources close to the Texans organization, after starting the season with four straight losses.

O’Brien has been receiving a lot of criticism across the league not just for the team’s performance on the field, but for personnel decisions.

He was most recently criticized very heavily for letting go of the Texans best player, star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, one of the best wideouts in the league to the Arizona Cardinals for a second-round pick and an often-injured running back.

O’Brien was hired to coach the team in 2014 and was named general manager last year. The Texans blew a 24-point lead in the playoffs last year to the Kansas City Chiefs, who ended up winning the Super Bowl.

Whoever gets the job to replace O’Brien is going to have an uphill battle, especially the general manager. The Texans currently have the most expensive roster in the NFL and won’t have a first or second-round pick in the 2021 draft.

Romeo Crennel will be the interim head coach until the Texans make a new hire.
