Houston Dynamo decided to lock up the services of their forward Mauro Manotas for foreseeable future after the 23-year-old scored 19 goals in 2018 MLS season. The team announced that they signed Manotas to a new three-year deal which will keep him in Houston through the 2021 season.

The deal was confirmed on the Dynamo’s official social media.

“As a club we are extremely pleased to secure a new long term agreement with Mauro. He is one of the most talented young strikers in MLS, who at just 23 years old has a tremendous amount of upside and is motivated to contribute to the success of the Houston Dynamo moving forward,” – said Dynamo’s general manager Matt Jordan in a statement. “This extension demonstrates our club’s commitment to identifying, developing and investing in talented young players who are eager to make an impact.”

Mauro Manotas started his career in native Colombia, before making a move to Houston Dynamo in 2015. He didn’t receive much playing time in his first season with the team and was sent to Dynamo’s USL affiliate Rio Grande Valley Toros in 2016.

After returning to Dynamo, Manotas started getting more minutes and used it in the best way possible, scoring 10 goals and providing five assists in 2017. He was made the team’s starting forward in 2015, and it seems like he will keep the position for a long time.
