Each year, the NFL players cast their votes to choose the top 100 NFL player heading into the next season. That was the case in 2019, as the league organized a poll in the offseason with players voting on their peers based on their performances in 2018.
The top vote-getter this year was Los Angeles Rams’ defensive tackle Aaron Donald, who claimed the No.1 spot compared to No.7 on last year’s rankings. Donald deservingly won the best NFL player honor, as he led Rams to Super Bowl appearance while leading the league in sacks with 20.5.
Kansas City Chiefs’ quarterback Patrick Mahomes earned his first entry on the list this year and immediately got to No.4. Mahomes was fresh from the MVP campaign in which he broke numerous records and led the Chiefs to AFC Championship Game appearance.
When all was said and done, Dallas Cowboys ended up being the team with most entries on the list, as eight of their players cracked the top 100. Running back Ezekiel Elliott ended up being the highest-ranked Cowboys player on the list at No.18. On the other side, Buffalo Bills were the only team without a single player on the list.
