The Miami Heat are reportedly putting together a trade package they hope will land them All-Star point guard Damian Lillard.

According to The Athletic‘s Shams Charania, there hasn’t been much development in trade talks surrounding Lillard despite the player asking out of Portland several weeks ago. However, the Heat, who are Lillard’s preferred destination, already have an outline of what their offer will be.

The Heat are willing to include players on expiring contracts, one of their young players, and three to four first-rounders. Also, the trade would likely involve 2022’s NBA Sixth Man of the Year Tyler Herro moving to a third team and potential deal sweeteners like a couple of second-round selections and pick swaps.

Damian Lillard spent all of his 11 years as a pro with the Trail Blazers. During his time with the franchise, Lillard was an All-Star seven times while being selected to the All-NBA First Team in 2018.

Lillard previously insisted that he wants to finish his career with the Blazers and hopes to bring a championship to the franchise. However, after the team opted to use the No. 3 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft on Scoot Henderson instead of trading it for immediate help, Lillard decided it was time to continue his quest for an NBA title somewhere else.
