Manchester United center-back Harry Maguire is set to be sidelined for the remainder of the month. The player took to social media to announce this update; however, he did not specify the nature of his injury.
“Will be a few weeks on the sideline for me but will come back stronger,” Maguire explained. It was as a result of this injury that the English international was substituted at half-time during Man United’s 0-0 draw with Aston Villa at Villa Park on Sunday.
During United’s previous match – a 3-3 draw with FC Porto – it was Maguire who rescued a point for United, scoring in the last few minutes of the match with a header after coming off the bench as a late substitute.
Having previously been scheduled to appear in England’s upcoming international fixtures, Maguire will now instead join United’s growing list of injuries. Fellow defenders Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, Leny Yoro, and Noussair Mazraoui are also sidelined, leaving the team vulnerable at the back.
