The Philadelphia 76ers star James Harden remains sidelined after missing his team’s final preseason game on Friday, sources revealed on Monday. It has consequently become increasingly unclear if he will be available to play for Philadelphia as they face the Milwaukee Bucks in their opening game of the new NBA season on Thursday night.

Harden did not show up for team practice on Wednesday and Thursday before being ruled out of Friday’s 120-106 victory over the Atlanta Hawks. According to the 76ers, Harden was away from the team due to dealing with a personal matter.

Since picking up his $35.6 million player option for the 2023-24 season, Harden has been seeking a trade away from the 76ers. He continues to be frustrated due to his request to be traded to the LA Clippers still being unfulfilled.
