NFL is currently putting the final touches on their list of the 100 best players of all time, which is part of the league’s celebratory activities for their 100th anniversary. Recently, the league announced the 10 wide receivers that made the cut, and surprisingly, the name of Hall of Famer Terrell Owens wasn’t there.

Owens, who played his best football with San Francisco 49ers, is one of the most prolific wideouts the NFL has ever seen. He is currently third on the all-time receiving yards list with 15,934 and third on all-time touchdown receptions list with 153 TD catches. Still, this wasn’t enough for him to get into the NFL’s Top 100.

After the list was revealed, Owens went on social media and expressed his frustration, saying that his omission was “pure hate.”

This isn’t the first time that the NFL’s voters shied away from Terrell Owens, who was considered a somewhat controversial figure in the league during his playing days due to his off-the-field issues. Despite his achievements, which also included six Pro Bowl appearances and five First-team All-Pro honors, Owens had a hard time entering the Hall of Fame as well. He was overlooked in the first two years of eligibility before being inducted in 2018.

The list of wide receivers that did make it to the 100 best players of all-time list includes Larry Fitzgerald, Lance Alworth, Raymond Berry, Steve Largent, Marvin Harrison, Elroy Hirsch, Don Hutson, Randy Moss, Jerry Rice, and Paul Warfield.

Gunner's favorite movies are Pulp Fiction, Iron Man (just the first one), and every James Bond film ever made. He's learning TV and cinema and hoping to always enjoy movies as he does now.
