Talented goalie Dean Henderson is joining the long list of Manchester United players who want to leave the club after not getting enough playing time this season. According to a recent report from 90min, Henderson is becoming increasingly frustrated with the lack of chances to prove himself and is pushing for an Old Trafford exit.

Henderson spent the two past seasons on loan with Sheffield United, where he impressed and even earned a call-up to the England national team. This prompted other clubs to make a move for the 24-year-old, but Man Utd convinced the player to extend his contract and promised him a chance to fight for starting 11 in 2021-22.

Despite the promise, Henderson saw limited action this season as manager Ole Gunnar Solskajer favored Spaniard David De Gea. His only first-team action came in a 0-1 loss to West Ham United in League Cup, while he also made two appearances for the club’s U23 squad.

This turn of events prompted Henderson to seek a move, something that Manchester United is willing to accommodate. However, the Premier League side is keen on letting Henderson go on loan through the 2022-23 season, while the player doesn’t see a clear path to number one in the future and would prefer to leave on a permanent basis.

Several Premier League clubs are believed to be keen on Henderson, with Newcastle United being considered a favorite if Man Utd decides to let him go.
