Former England international and Manchester City keeper Joe Hart looks set to join Tottenham Hotspur on a free transfer after leaving Burnley this summer.

Hart, who was one of the main figures of the early 2010s Manchester City sides that began to make waves in English competition and throughout the continent, has seen his career slide backward over the past few seasons.

Despite winning four of the five Golden Gloves Awards in the Premier League in the first five years of the decade, Hart found himself fall out of favor at City and then spend his last two seasons at the club at Torino and West Ham, respectively.

After signing with Burnley prior to the 2018-19 season, he found himself as the team’s second-choice keeper during his two seasons with the Clarets, a disappointing turn for a keeper who was once one of the world’s best.

Now, Hart will look to get back on his feet with Spurs, where he is expected to be the second-choice keeper behind French star Hugo Lloris. He figures to be a possible option for coach Jose Mourinho in the team’s Europa League and cup fixtures this season.

Hart is expected to join Spurs’ pre-season raining sessions at some point this week.
