Despite lacking depth on the wide receiver position, New York Giants decided to release WR Da’Mari Scott on Wednesday. According to Jordan Raanan, although Giants were interested in keeping Scott after a solid preseason showing, the player himself wanted out.

Scott reportedly felt he isn’t in the right kind of situation with the Giants and asked to be released so he could explore other opportunities. The 24-year-old made two preseason appearances and managed to catch two passes for 47 yards. This included an impressive 38 yards diving catch against Chicago Bears last week.

Giants are currently in a tough spot considering their receiving core, as Golden Tate is set to serve a four-game suspension at the start of the season while Sterling Shepard is dealing with a broken thumb. The team is, however, optimistic that rookie Darius Slayton will soon recover from a hamstring injury and will be ready for action next week.

After playing college football at Fresno State, Da’Mari Scott was signed by Cleveland Browns as an undrafted free agent in 2018. He never made a regular-season appearance with the Browns, who released him mid-season. Scott later signed with Buffalo Bills, playing in three games but failing to make any real impact.

Gunner's favorite movies are Pulp Fiction, Iron Man (just the first one), and every James Bond film ever made. He's learning TV and cinema and hoping to always enjoy movies as he does now.
