Netherlands international midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum seems to be regretting his decision to join the Ligue 1 powerhouse Paris Saint-Germain.

Wijnaldum became a free agent in the summer after his contract with Premier League side Liverpool expired. He was on the verge of joining Barcelona but changed his mind and signed with PSG after the French club made a late swoop.

But the 30-year-old player isn’t having the best of times in Paris so far and recently decided to express his discontent during a chat with Dutch media outlet NOS.

“I can’t say I’m completely happy because the situation is not what I wanted,” Wijnaldum told NOS. “But that’s football, and I’ll have to learn to deal with that. I’m a fighter.”

Wijnaldum played nine games in Ligue 1, but only started five of them. He also played just 57 minutes of Champions League football and is yet to score a goal or dish an assist in PSG’s jersey.

“I have to stay positive and work hard to turn it around,” he added. “I have played a lot in recent years, was always fit, and also did very well. This is something different, and that takes getting used to.”

Georginio Wijnaldum previously also played with Feyenoord, PSV Eindhoven, and Newcastle United. He is currently serving as captain for the Netherlands men’s national team.
