LA Galaxy’s striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic came to Major League Soccer just nine months ago, and he is already taking over the league. Ibra not only managed to score impressive 22 goals in 26 matches and push Galaxy towards the playoffs but also became the most popular player in the league during that time.
MLS official store just released the players who have the bestselling jerseys in MLS in this year, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic already made it on top. Carlos Vela, who plays for the Galaxy’s cross rivals LAFC is on the second place while Atlanta United’s Josef Martinez is ranked third.
Another newcomer, D.C.United’s Wayne Rooney, is on the fourth spot while Atlanta United’s Miguel Almiron, who had the best-selling jersey in 2017, is fifth.
A look at the top five. 👀

Having the best-selling jersey might be just one of many achievements Zlatan Ibrahimovic accomplishes this year. He was recently nominated for several awards, including MLS MVP, Newcomer of the Year and Comeback Player of the Year, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he managed to win them all.
While soccer fans in the United States are surely hoping to enjoy in Ibrahimovic’s performances for years to come, they might be disappointed at the end of the season. Ibra was linked with several notable clubs after impressive performances in MLS and might return to Europe after just one season. His salary demands could also be an issue, and LA Galaxy’s front office will have to make a real effort if they want to keep him in the U.S. for years to come.
