Former Major League Baseball great Manny Ramirez is set to turn 48-years-old next month. He hasn’t played in a professional baseball game since 2014, when he served as a player-coach for the minor league Iowa Cubs for a couple of months.

However, Ramirez’s desire to play baseball still hasn’t gone away, as he is reportedly eyeing a return to the Chinese Professional Baseball League in Taiwan for the 2020 season.

Ramirez’s last full professional season was in 2013 with the league’s EDL Rhinos, where he starred and became a fan favorite in Taiwan. He batted .352 with 8 home runs and 43 RBIs and wowed fans with his athletic ability despite being 41 years old.

The 12-time MLB All-Star and 2-time World Series champion, despite turning 48 next month, still has the itch to play after a few years away from the game and will look for another opportunity in the last league in which he found success.

No teams have come out and expressed definite interest in Ramirez, but there is a strong belief that he would be able to sign with a team due to his name recognition and popularity.

Despite his age, there’s no doubting that Manny Ramirez is one of the greatest right-handed hitters of all time, and he could be worth a roster spot in Taiwan.
