It looks like Mexican forward Giovani dos Santos found his new club. Dos Santos, who spent the previous four years playing in MLS with Los Angeles Galaxy, is reportedly close to joining Liga MX side Club America.

According to ESPN’s sources, the 30-year-old reached an agreement with the club last month, but couldn’t join his new teammates as his departure from MLS hasn’t been finalized. He parted ways with Galaxy in March, when the team decided to buy out his contract.

dos Santos’ move to Club America was previously hinted by his brother Jonathan dos Santos.

“I don’t know anything, but hopefully,” – said Jonathan in a recent interview. “I’ve always said that we are America fans from the cradle and hopefully [Giovani’s move to America] happens.”

Giovani dos Santos played a total of 88 games with LA Galaxy in all competitions, managing to score 29 goals and dish 17 assists. During his time with the team, he earned two MLS All-Star appearances.

dos Santos previously played for Barcelona, Tottenham Hotspur and Villarreal among other clubs.
