Three times Pro-Bowl wide receiver Vincent Jackson won’t come back to professional football after sitting out the last season. His agent Jonathan Feinsod confirmed the news to ESPN saying that his client is “very happily retired.”

Jackson’s former teams, Los Angeles Chargers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers went on to Twitter following the news and wished all the best to the 35-year-old in his retirement.

Vincent Jackson entered the NFL in 2005 when he was selected 61st overall by Los Angeles Chargers in that year’s draft. He played seven years for the Chargers and earned two Pro-Bowl appearances before deciding to take his talents to Tampa Bay and sign with the Buccaneers in 2012. After three consecutive seasons in which he had more than 1,000 receiving yards, Jackson saw his production taking a dip in 2015 due to a combination of injuries and inconsistency. In 2016 he suffered torn ACL, and it turned out that the five games he played in that season were his last.

In 155 games he played in the NFL, Vincent Jackson had 540 catches for 9,080 yards (16.8 yards per catch) and 57 touchdowns. He is the only player who entered the league past 2000 alongside DeSean Jackson to have at least 500 receptions and 16 yards per catch.

Ben loves sports so much but prefers watching other people do it. He prefers not to share what teams he's supporting but he is willing to admit that Lebron James is, in fact, the king.
