Los Angeles Lakers are wasting no time in trying to find their new head coach after recently firing Luke Walton. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Lakers’ general manager Rob Pelinka met with is the former Cleveland Cavaliers coach Ty Lue on Friday in order to discuss the team’s head coaching vacancy.

Lue recently emerged as the favorite for the Lakers’ job considering the fact that he already coached the team’s biggest star LeBron James in Cleveland. The duo won an NBA Championship together with the Cavs’ while also reaching three straight NBA Finals. Lue was fired by the Cavaliers at the beginning of 2018/19 NBA season.

The meeting with Ty Lue comes after Pelinka sat down with Philadelphia 76ers’ assistant Monty Williams on Tuesday. There is a belief that the conversation between the Lakers and Williams will continue soon and that there will be a second meeting arranged between the two sides.

Although Lue and Williams remain the favorites for LA Lakers’ job, Pelinka will also consider other candidates. One of them is Miami Heat assistant Juwan Howard, who will have a meeting at some point next week.
