Indiana Fever’s rookie Caitlin Clark delivered one of her best performances in the WNBA in Friday night’s 85-83 win over the Washington Mystics. Clark finished with a game-high 30 points while also tying the WNBA record for most 3-pointers in a single game by a rookie with seven makes beyond the arc.

According to WNBA, Clark also became just the second rookie in WNBA history to finish a game with at least 30 points, five rebounds, five assists, and five three-pointers. The only other was New York Liberty’s Sabrina Ionescu.

Clark made seven threes out of 13 attempts and shot 8-of-15 from the floor. It marked a bounce-back outing following a struggling performance in a 68-104 loss to Liberty, during which the 2024’s first overall pick shot 1-of-7 from the game and 1-of-10 overall and finished with just three points.

“I think it’s a process, more than anything,” Clark told reporters after the game. “It felt good to shoot the ball well. I feel like even my misses were right there.”

Since making her WNBA debut, Caitlin Clark experienced some growing pain in her transition to the pros while also showing flashes of talent that made her one of basketball’s biggest stars in recent memory. Clark is currently averaging 16.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 6.3 assists, and 1.5 steals per game.
