National Hockey League is replacing Adidas as its jersey supplier. According to the official announcement made earlier this week, the team jerseys will be manufactured by U.S. sports apparel company Fanatics starting in the 2024-25 season.

Fanatics and NHL agreed to a 10-year partnership that will run through the 2033-34 season. The financial side of the agreement remained undisclosed. The deal with Adidas was reportedly worth $70 million annually.

“Fanatics is a sports industry market leader, and with its proven track record in e-commerce and retail operations, licensed fan merchandise and performance gear — including the popular NHL replica jerseys and Authentic Pro performance and training products — our players and fans should look forward to what Fanatics will bring to the best uniforms in all of the sports,” said NHL commissioner Gary Bettman of the deal.

Fanatics will become NHL’s third exclusive jersey provided. The league allowed teams to have different jerseys before agreeing to a deal with Rebook in 2005. The agreement lasted for 12 years before Adidas took over in 2017.

Fanatics already has experience with supplying jerseys for major sports teams, although not directly. Since 2017, the company has created and supplied uniforms for MLB in an agreement with Majestic and Nike.
