Atlanta Falcons lost another safety on Monday night. Already without Keanu Neal and Ricardo Allen, Falcons saw starter Damontae Kazee suffer an Achilles injury in a 30-16 loss to Green Bay Packers.

Kazee got hurt in the second quarter, with the injury being non-contact as it seems. He remained on the ground in obvious pain and had to be carted off the field.

While Atlanta Falcons’ head coach Dan Quinn didn’t want to go into details about Kazee’s injury, he did confirm the 27-year-old safety is seriously hurt.

“It’s definitely a serious injury,” Quinn told reporters after the game.

Kazee started all four of Atlanta’s games this season, contributing with 20 tackles and one forced fumble.

If Kazee’s injury turns out to be as bad as it seems, the game against Green Bay could be his last for the Falcons considering he is about to become a free agent next year.

Atlanta now hopes that Neal and Allen will recover in time for Week 5 game against Carolina Panthers. If not, veteran Sharrod Neasman and rookie Jaylinn Hawkins are expected to step in as starting safeties.
