Former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp revealed that his management career might be over following Anfield exit.
Klopp recently made an appearance at the International Coaches’ Congress in Wurzburg, Germany, and discussed rumors that linked him with head coaching vacancies with the England national team and USMNT. The German said that he has no interest in those jobs and remains committed to taking a break from soccer.
Later on, Klopp indicated that he might retire from coaching altogether.
“As of today, that’s it for me as a coach,” Klopp said. “I didn’t quit on a whim, but it was a general decision. I’ve also coached the best clubs in the world. “
He explained that he still wants to remain involved in soccer but not as a coach.
“I’m going to do some work. I’m too young to only do padel tennis and grandchildren. Will that be coach again? I would actually rule that out at the moment, “he added.
Jurgen Klopp spent the last eight years coaching Liverpool following stints with Mainz 05 and Borussia Dortmund. During his time with the Premier League powerhouse, Klopp won eight trophies, including the Champions League in 2018-19 and the Premier League title in 2019–20.
Klopp announced in January that he’ll step down as Liverpool manager following the end of the 2023-24 season in January. At the time, Klopp said that he will take at least one year break from management before considering a new job.
