The draw for the group stage of next year’s Euro 2024 competition took place on Saturday, with the likes of Spain and France being handed challenging pathways to the knockout stages of the tournament.
Hosts Germany were placed in Group A, where they will face Scotland, Hungary, and Switzerland. Spain, the winners of their qualifying group, will face a stern test from Italy, who were qualifying group runners-up to England, as well as Croatia and group underdog Albania. In Group C, an on-form England will come up against Denmark, Slovenia, and Serbia, while Group D will see France and Netherlands clash. Joining these two titans are Austria and the winner of the playoff games between Poland, Wales, Finland, and Estonia.
Belgium has been handed an attractive group in the form of Slovakia, Romania, and the playoff winner between Israel, Bosnia, Ukraine, and Iceland, while Portugal will face Turkey, the Czech Republic, and the playoff winner between Georgia, Greece, Kazakhstan, and Luxembourg. The tournament is set to run from June 14 until July 14.
