After paying the release clause of nearly $25 million to acquire his services earlier this month, Erling Haaland made his long-awaited Borussia Dortmund debut on Saturday.

He didn’t disappoint.

Haaland, the prolific striker who scored 24 goals in 20 games for Red Bull Salzburg during the first half of the season, scored 3 goals in his Black and Yellow debut on Saturday in a 3-5 win over FC Augsburg.

What’s even more impressive is that he came on as a substitute and scored his hat trick in only 34 minutes on the pitch.

The Norwegian striker entered the game with his team losing 3-1 in the 56th minute of the match. It didn’t take long for him to find the net, as he scored to bring his team within a goal only three minutes after coming on.

After Jadon Sancho’s equalizer, Haaland then scored the goal that put his team ahead 3-4 after being assisted by Thorgan Hazard at minute 70.

The talented younger scored his third goal of the afternoon only nine minutes later, putting the game out of reach at 3-5.

Haaland’s exciting style of play and knack for the net at 19 years of age already has Borussia Dortmund fans going crazy. He’ll have another chance to make an impact as his team hosts 1. FC Koln next weekend.

Ben loves sports so much but prefers watching other people do it. He prefers not to share what teams he's supporting but he is willing to admit that Lebron James is, in fact, the king.
