Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has praised the club’s leadership due to its fast decision-making in the ongoing transfer market. “It is very good that we are also there on the front foot, we are very proactive,” the Dutch manager stated. “So, [the] leadership is doing a great job in this moment and that’s how we want to act as United.”

The Red Devils have been quick to pounce on their transfer targets this summer, signing Netherlands striker Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna before luring in French center-back Leny Yoro from Lille.

Zirkzee’s signing comes as United desperately sought additional reinforcements in attack, with Rasmus Hojlund previously the club’s sole recognized striker. Zirkzee enjoyed an impressive season with Bologna in Serie A last season, scoring 11 goals and bagging five assists. He also represented the Netherlands at Euro 2024. Costing $46.2 million, Zirkzee signed a five-year deal with United.

Yoro was a critical component in Lille’s defense last season, helping the team secure fourth place in Ligue 1 as well as a spot in this season’s UEFA Champions League qualifiers. Signed for $67 million, Yoro signed a five-year deal with United.

Before beginning the new season, Man United will head to the United States for their pre-season tour, where they will face Arsenal, Real Betis, and Liverpool.
