The Philadelphia 76ers will be without star player Joel Embiid as they take on the Miami Heat in their Christmas Day game at the Kaseya Center. Embiid has been sidelined after suffering a sprained right ankle during Friday night’s win over the Toronto Raptors.

Embiid landed awkwardly while trying to block a shot midway through the first quarter. Despite the setback, Embiid was able to continue playing, scoring 31 points and 10 rebounds to extend his 30-10 streak to 13th consecutive games, with only Hall of Famers Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Elgin Baylor surpassing this total.

The 76ers will be hoping for Embiid’s quick recovery, particularly given what has been arguably the best season of his career. Currently, Embiid leads the NBA’s scoring charts, averaging 35 points per game. He is also averaging a career-high six assists per game.
