Eli Manning has found a new way to mess with his former rival, Tom Brady, whom he beat twice in the Super Bowl. Manning announced he became a fan of League One side Wrexham FC just in time for their game against Birmingham City, a club in which Brady owns a minority stake.
Wrexham FC, owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mcelhenney, announced the new addition to their fanbase via Instagram by posting a Manning donning the club’s jersey.
“We are honoured that @elimanning has coincidentally, (because Co-chairmen @robmcelhenney & @vancityreynolds begged him) joined the @Wrexham_AFC fanbase, just in time for our match over at @TomBrady’s @BCFC on Monday night,” it said in the caption of the photo.
Manning later commented with a dig aimed at Brady.
“Now I can beat @tombrady in football and fútbol! Go @wrexham_afc!,” the legendary New York Giants’ quarterback wrote.
Of course, Brady didn’t wait for too long to respond. Arguably, the best player in NFL history shared a video on X (former Twitter) in which he “bragged” about the seven Super Bowls he won.
“Rob, can you just educate the Wrexham fans just a little bit on the history of the NFL? Thanks bud, I’ll see you Monday,” Brady said.
Wrexham FC and Birmingham City, both undefeated in 2024-25, are scheduled to play their League One game on Monday. Wrexham is currently at the top of the standings with 14 points, while Birmingham sits sixth with 10 points but one less game played.
