Long-time Paris Saint-Germain striker, who left his club this summer, has reportedly agreed to a two-year deal with Manchester United, pending medicals and final contract talks.

Cavani had been searching for a new team all summer, reportedly coming close to joining various MLS teams and Portugal’s Benfica before finally settling on an offer from an attractive Premier League side.

Manchester United, which has gotten off to a slow start to the season after taking only 3 points from 3 games, needed a striker with Cavani’s experience and quality to help them in their push for a top 4 Premier League finish and Champions League success.

The Uruguayan striker, who scored 138 goals in 200 Ligue 1 matches with the Parisians between 2013 and 2020, has also been a regular starter for his national team since debuting all the way back in 2008.

Working alongside Anthony Martial in the center-forward role and sharing duties for a team that needed more goal scorers could be the perfect role for Cavani at the age of 33.

If all goes well with medicals and contract talks are able to be finalized, expect an official announcement by the club over the next couple of days.
