The 2018 season didn’t start well for the defending Super Bowl champions Philadelphia Eagles. After falling to a 2-3 record, they now have to deal with the injury of their leading running back Jay Ajayi, who tore his ACL and will be out for the season. According to ESPN, one of the ways to do so might involve bringing back Buffalo Bills’ RB LeSean McCoy, who spent the first six years of his career in Philadelphia.

Even with Jay Ajayi healthy, Eagles struggled to have an efficient running game with their other two options in Wendell Smallwood and Corey Clement combining for 262 yards in first five weeks. This is why Philadelphia decided to enter the market and is looking to bring a reliable running back in the coming weeks.

LeSean McCoy looks like an obvious choice, considering the fact that he started his career with Philadelphia Eagles and is franchise’s All-time Rushing Leader with 6,792 yards. Unfortunately for the Eagles, McCoy has been one of the Bills’ best players in the past couple of seasons and is having a great start of the year, so his price would be significantly higher. Also, it is unclear whether Buffalo would like to part ways with the 30-year-old while they still have a chance to make the playoffs.

Other options that are rumored to be on Eagles’ radar also include Pittsburgh Steelers’ disgruntled RB Le’Veon Bell. Steelers are looking to offload Bell, who is staying away from the team due to contract disputes, and might be convinced with a 2019 second round pick. The only issue is Bell would most likely be a rental until the end of the season, a fact that would make a second-rounder too steep price to pay for Philadelphia.

Other RB that Philadelphia Eagles is reportedly looking to include Atlanta Falcons’ Tevin Coleman, Houston Texans’ Lamar Miller, and Detroit Lions’ LeGarrette Blount.
