The Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert is expected to be sidelined for an extended time after incurring a shoulder injury, multiple reports have confirmed. A decision has not yet been reached on whether or not to place him on injured reserve.

Goedert incurred his shoulder injury during the fourth quarter of the Eagles’ 32-21 loss to the Washington Commanders on Monday night. He is still being evaluated and a timeline for his recovery has not yet been determined.

The player was injured during a controversial moment of the game, namely a non-call that helped to swing momentum behind the Commanders and ultimately change the tide of the game. Despite widespread outcries, Eagles coach Nick Sirianni insists that this call was not the reason for the Eagles’ defeat.

“I think whether the calls were bad or good, or whatever it was, when you play the way we did tonight on all three phases … it does seem like everything’s going against you,” he explained. “We didn’t do a good enough job. … We made our own luck today, and it was bad.”
