Philadelphia Eagles will be bringing back a familiar face in order to boost their running back core. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Eagles have signed Ajayi on Friday after spending the last few days negotiating with the veteran free agent.

Ajayi was a member of the Eagles team that won a Super Bowl in the 2017 NFL season. He hasn’t been on the field since Week 5 of 2018 when he tore his ACL.

Eagles were forced to add another RB to their roster after Darren Sproles recently suffered a season-ending injury. The team might also be without Jordan Howard in the next few games as the 25-year-old is still not cleared for contact after dealing with a stinger for the past week.

Jay Ajayi entered the league as the fifth-round pick in 2015 and spent the first two and a half years of his NFL career with Miami Dolphins. He was traded to Philadelphia Eagles midway through the 2017 season and ended up making a big contribution to the team’s Super Bowl run. Ajayi rushed for 408 yards and one touchdown in the regular season while adding 184 yards in the postseason.

Ajayi’s career stats include 2,516 rushing yards and 13 rushing TDs, alongside 63 receptions for 419 yards and one touchdown.

Gunner's favorite movies are Pulp Fiction, Iron Man (just the first one), and every James Bond film ever made. He's learning TV and cinema and hoping to always enjoy movies as he does now.
