Manchester United central midfielder Donny van de Beek left his team’s 3-0 victory over Bournemouth early on Tuesday night after picking up an injury. The Dutch player had to be substituted before the half-time break after being on the receiving end of a hard tackle by Marcos Senesi.

“It’s difficult to say, we have to wait 24 hours before we can give a good diagnosis,” manager Erik ten Hag confirmed during a news conference on Tuesday. “It is [a concern]. I can’t say in this moment [what the injury is]. You have to wait 24 hours, but it doesn’t look good.”

Van de Beek’s injury is one significant setback in what was otherwise a joyous night at Old Trafford, with the Red Devils winning their sixth game in a row in all competitions. With this victory, Man Utd goes level on points with third-placed Newcastle United, who were held to a goalless draw by Arsenal. Man Utd is just a single point behind league runners up Manchester City.

Man Utd has a packed schedule ahead, playing in the FA Cup 3rd Round against Everton on Friday before facing Charlton Athletic in the quarterfinal of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday. Then they face Man City in the league before taking a trip to league leaders Arsenal.
